This is a description of how clinical photobiomodulation is used to treat damage and voltage changes in the cervical and cardiac vagus nerves. These nerves are located both sides of the trachea, within the carotid sheath. Other structures of interest are the sternocleidomastoid, longus coli and capitis and oesophagus. There is create complexity in the upper regions of the sheath and this will be covered in another article.
